Muirhead at Applethwaite Hall
A wonderful dining experience. An open kitchen, staff who are just the right side of attentive, tapas-style pan asian food that is as beautiful to look at as it is to eat, sumptuous decor and spectacular loos. What more could anyone what?
As with any sharing- platter type menu, it can be tricky to estimate how much food you will need but the staff are very experienced in helping you to gauge your appetite.
A family favourite is the 12 hour slow-roasted saddleback pork belly described by Jay Raynor as, “somewhere between Cantonese roasted meat and a fine Cumbrian Sunday roast ”. Perfect after a hard day on the fells. The flatbreads are also a thing of great beauty not to mention taste
Great wine list along along with cocktails and mocktails of the month.
Awards: 2 AA Rosettes
