Terrain: easy - suitable for pushchair users and some wheelchair users

Parking: Elterwater National Trust car park (NY 328048)

Dogs: cattle & sheep may be in the meadow

Sustenance: you are spoilt for choice. Chesters café at Skelwith Bridge is an oasis of vegetarian and vegan food while the Britannia Inn at Elterwater is a traditional lakeland pub of the best kind with great beer and the best chips

Fun Fact 1: Elterwater is the smallest lake in the Lake District

Fun Fact 2: With a drop of just 16 ft Skelwith Force (Skelwith Bridge) is one of the smallest waterfalls in the Lake District. Visit after rain, however and it is thunderingly dramatic
